Rate analysis is a crucial process in construction project management that involves determining the cost of various project activities such as labor, materials, and equipment. Here’s how it works:
- Basis for Correct Rates: Rate analysis forms the basis for establishing the correct rate per unit of work or supply of work specifications like labor, materials, and equipment.
- Determining Project Cost: It helps in understanding the total cost of the project by summing up the rates of different project items.
- Estimation of Total Project Cost: By knowing the rates of different items, rate analysis enables estimating the total cost of the project.
- Viability Examination: Contractors can examine the viability of rates offered by contractors through rate analysis .
